From Burna Boy’s One-of-One Bugatti to Custom Rides: How Nigerian Stars Are Personalising Luxury Cars

Burna Boy has taken delivery of a one-of-one customised Bugatti Chiron VXX, adding another striking chapter to the Nigerian music industry’s growing relationship with high-end and bespoke automobiles.

The Grammy-winning singer, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, formally took delivery of the customised hypercar in Lagos on Saturday, September 19, 2026, after months of anticipation surrounding the project.

Dubai-based luxury car customisation company Venuum created the vehicle. Nigerian media have reported its value at about ₦9 billion, although the exact purchase price has not been publicly confirmed.

The Chiron is distinguished by a French Racing Blue front fascia, a yellow number seven on its signature horseshoe grille and a central racing stripe. Inside, the car features blue seats with yellow stitching and other personalised details.

The vehicle was developed from a Bugatti Chiron platform and fitted with Venuum’s bespoke widebody treatment. Venuum announced the project earlier in 2026, describing it as a one-of-one build for Burna Boy and claiming it was the world’s first widebody Bugatti Chiron.

But the acquisition is notable for more than the value attached to the car. It also reflects the growing role of personalisation in Nigerian celebrity car culture. For the country’s biggest entertainers, luxury vehicles are increasingly more than factory-finished purchases. Colour, interiors, bodywork and specialist modifications are being used to give individual cars a distinct identity.

And while Burna Boy’s Bugatti may be one of the most dramatic examples, Nigerian women in entertainment have developed their own approaches to luxury-car culture, from signature colours and bespoke interiors to high-spec SUVs designed around comfort and personal style.

    1. DJ Cuppy: When the Car Becomes Part of the Brand

Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has perhaps one of the most recognisable automotive aesthetics among Nigerian entertainers.

Her love of pink has extended to her luxury cars, including a Ferrari Portofino reported to have a bespoke bubblegum-pink exterior and personalised interior detailing.

She has also been associated with a Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII, reportedly featuring her signature “7FO” personalised number plate, as well as a Land Rover Defender customised in her preferred pink shade.

For Cuppy, the appeal goes beyond simply owning expensive cars. The colour itself has become part of her public identity, making her vehicles instantly recognisable as an extension of her personal brand.

    2. Tems: Luxury Beyond the Supercar

Tems has been linked to a high-spec Range Rover Autobiography. The model itself offers extensive factory personalisation, including exterior packs, wheel choices, interior materials and configurable cabin features.

For artists whose work increasingly involves international travel, these larger luxury vehicles also offer a different kind of appeal: privacy, comfort and space alongside the prestige associated with the badge.

    3. Teni: Bringing Personality to the G-Wagon

Teni the Entertainer has also been associated with high-end vehicles, including a customised Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. The reported modifications include an exterior vinyl wrap, upgraded wheels and personalised interior styling.

A Lexus LX 570 has also been linked to her collection.

The G-Wagon’s boxy silhouette has made it one of the most recognisable luxury SUVs among celebrities worldwide, but custom wraps and wheels allow owners to give the familiar model a more individual identity.

For Teni, that personalisation fits an energetic public image that is often reflected in her fashion and performances.

    5. Ayra Starr: A New Generation of Luxury

Ayra Starr represents a younger generation of Nigerian artists for whom personal branding extends naturally into lifestyle and fashion.

The singer has been linked to Mercedes-Benz models including the GLE 350 and G-Class, with reported high-end specifications, upgraded factory wheels and personalised interior finishes.

A Range Rover has also been associated with her growing collection of premium vehicles.

Her reported choices reflect a broader shift among younger entertainers, where luxury is increasingly part of a wider visual identity built across music, fashion, social media and lifestyle.

    6. Genevieve Nnaji: Low-Profile Luxury

For Genevieve Nnaji, the approach to luxury has generally been more understated.

The actress has been associated with a customised Range Rover Evoque, reportedly configured with premium interior accents, higher-end trim and upgraded wheels.

The vehicle fits a different interpretation of celebrity luxury: less about making a dramatic statement and more about quiet, polished sophistication.

    7. Wizkid: Factory Personalisation Meets Performance

Women may be increasingly visible in Nigeria’s luxury-car culture, but male artists remain a major part of the picture.

Ayodeji Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, has been associated with a collection built around high-performance and luxury vehicles.

Among the cars attributed to the singer is a McLaren 750S, a model that can be extensively personalised through McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the manufacturer’s bespoke division.

McLaren’s MSO programme allows customers to specify unique paint, carbon-fibre components, interior finishes and other design details.

His reported collection also includes performance-focused Ferrari and Mercedes-Maybach models, reflecting an approach that combines exclusivity with factory-level personalisation.

    8. Asake: Venuum Takes on the Lamborghini Revuelto

Ahmed Ololade, better known as Asake, has also entered the Venuum custom-car conversation with a customised Lamborghini Revuelto Voltoro V1.

The singer was recently reported to have acquired a Venuum Black-modified version of Lamborghini’s flagship V12 hybrid model, bringing the aggressive styling associated with the Dubai-based customiser to another high-profile Nigerian artist’s garage.

The move creates an interesting connection with Burna Boy: both artists have turned to the same specialist customisation house to give their high-performance cars a more distinctive appearance.

    9. Davido: Luxury With a Bespoke Touch

David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has long been associated with high-end vehicles, with his reported garage featuring models from brands such as Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Maybach.

One example is the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Cullinan Series II, a luxury SUV designed around personal expression and extensive specification options.

Rolls-Royce describes the Black Badge Cullinan Series II as a vehicle for clients seeking distinctive materials, finishes and design details, with extensive opportunities for individualisation.

For Davido, the appeal is less about transforming a car completely and more about selecting specifications that reflect a particular taste.

    10. Rema: Dark, Minimalist Specifications

Rema has taken a different approach to automotive personalisation, with his reported collection including vehicles finished in darker, understated styles.

The singer has been associated with a matte-black Lamborghini Urus and Mercedes-AMG G63, while a McLaren GTS has also been linked to his collection.

The aesthetic fits a broader trend among younger global artists, where personal branding extends beyond clothing and music into the colour, finish and overall presentation of their cars.

    More Than a Luxury Purchase

The growing presence of bespoke and highly specified vehicles among Nigerian entertainers reflects a wider shift in celebrity car culture. The traditional luxury-car flex was about owning a rare or expensive model. Increasingly, the distinction lies in how that car is made personal.

For women such as DJ Cuppy, Tiwa Savage, Teni, Yemi Alade, Ayra Starr and Genevieve Nnaji, that personalisation can mean a signature colour, a transformed interior, upgraded wheels or a vehicle configured around comfort and privacy.
