A Bayelsa baker has put 30,000 cakes on display in Yenagoa in a bid to break the Guinness World Records title for the longest line of cakes, turning the state’s 30th anniversary celebration into a record attempt.
The exhibition was held on Thursday, October 1, at Peace Park in Yenagoa as part of activities marking 30 years since Bayelsa State was created. The state government had earlier announced the 30,000-cake display as one of the anniversary events, with the number of cakes matching the age of the state.
The attempt was organised by Cammy’s Cake House and was presented as an effort to surpass the existing Guinness World Records title. Guinness World Records currently defines the category by the physical length of the cake line, measured in metres and centimetres, rather than simply by the number of cakes used.

The 30,000-cake exhibition is therefore a record attempt at this stage, rather than a Guinness-confirmed new record. The previous publicly listed Guinness record was 26,397 cakes, arranged in a line measuring 1,706.78 metres in Midori, Japan, in 2016. If the Bayelsa attempt meets Guinness World Records’ requirements, the result will be confirmed after the organisation reviews the evidence submitted for the attempt.
