Nigerian model and street-style creator Rachel Ojuromi has walked the Chanel runway in Paris, months after recreating the French fashion house’s looks on the streets of Lagos using thrifted clothes. Ojuromi, who is known online as @giverachelashot, made her runway debut for Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection on Monday, October 5, during Paris Fashion Week.
The appearance comes after Ojuromi and her best friend and stylist, Debby Fasingha, recreated Chanel’s Métiers d’Art 2026 collection earlier this year using second-hand pieces sourced from Yaba Market. The pair restaged the looks across different locations in Lagos, with Fasingha styling the project and photographer Odey Ikpa shooting the images and videos.
The project quickly drew attention online, including from Chanel creative director Matthieu Blazy, who commented on Ojuromi’s videos. The response helped bring wider attention to the 22-year-old model, whose street-style content had already been gaining traction for its approach to recreating high-fashion looks without access to the original pieces.
Ojuromi’s Chanel appearance comes after she secured representation with four international modelling agencies. She signed with No Smoking NYC in New York, Safe Management in Paris, SUPA Worldwide in London and Next Canada, which serves as her mother agency, according to reports published last month. Her work has also attracted support from Grammy-winning singer SZA, who has publicly championed her content.
