Anambra State First Lady, Dr Nonye Soludo, has been named a recipient of the Public Health Innovation Award at the Africa Future Leadership Conference and Awards, in recognition of her work promoting preventive healthcare and community-based health education.
A statement issued in Awka on Saturday by her media aide, Daniel Ezeigwe, said she is scheduled to receive the award at a ceremony in Lagos on November 20, 2026.
The statement said the award recognises her Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative, which promotes preventive healthcare, healthy nutrition, physical fitness and personal hygiene, with programmes aimed at women, children and young people across Anambra State. It added that the initiative also includes menstrual hygiene education and campaigns that encourage healthier habits in households and communities.

The report said the recognition highlights the role of health education and disease prevention in complementing medical services, and that it shows how state-level initiatives can take practical health information beyond hospitals and into local communities.
The Africa Future Leadership Conference and Awards recognises individuals for their contributions to leadership and development across the continent, and the November ceremony in Lagos is expected to bring together leaders and stakeholders from different sectors.
