Reality TV star Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, and Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing are set to face each other in a celebrity boxing bout on October 1 at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
Tagged “Phyna vs Nkechi,” the contest is part of Balmoral Group Promotions’ “Chaos in the Ring” series and will form part of the Independence Day entertainment programme. The event is scheduled to be broadcast live on DAZN and SuperSport.
Nkechi had criticised Phyna over her involvement in online confrontations, prompting Phyna to question why the actress had addressed her publicly. Phyna also referenced previous communication between them concerning a movie project.
What began as an online exchange has since become part of the promotion for a live boxing event.
The tension continued ahead of the bout. At a pre-fight press conference in Lagos on September 29, Phyna and Nkechi exchanged heated words before the confrontation became physical, with footage from the event showing the two women being separated by people around them.
