Big Brother Naija Season 6 star Saskay, whose real name is Tsakute Ladi Jonah, has celebrated earning a Master of Arts (MA) in Global Security and Strategy from the VUB Brussels School of Governance with a set of graduation portraits shared on Instagram on Monday, October 19, 2026.
She was reported to have said that studying a subject she has always been passionate about made the degree mean much more to her, and that she had poured so much of herself into the journey that her diploma felt like her baby.
She was also reported to have thanked her sisters and friends for supporting her through the admission and visa processes when she started the programme in Brussels in September 2025, and to have described the return to academic life as both exciting and overwhelming.
The portraits carried a story of their own, because Saskay was reported to have planned a suit for the shoot, but her designer had an emergency and could not finish it in time.
She said the change made her reflect on how education has come to be associated with Western clothing, and that she found it beautiful to celebrate an academic milestone in a way that also reflects who she is and where she comes from.
For the shoot, she wore the Nola Kaftan by Nigerian label Hertunba, a flowing 100 per cent cotton design in off-white and cream tones, with brown Aso-Oke appliques and motifs of palm trees, birds and dwellings that were described as telling the metaphorical story of a small girl in a big village.
She completed the look with a chocolate brown silk veil, traditional-inspired facial art, oversized leaf-shaped gold earrings, a layered beaded gold necklace and gold cuffs and bangles, and posed with a leather degree holder from her school alongside stacks of books.
Saskay was reported to have completed the degree in July 2026, when she shared a video tracing her journey from her first day to her last, along with her 10,329-word thesis on the use of artificial intelligence in counter-terrorism, titled The Rise of Algorithmic Counter Terrorism, AI, Global Governance and Security.
Her journey from the Big Brother Naija house in 2021 to a postgraduate degree in global security was described as a reminder that reality television fame and serious academic ambition can sit side by side.
