Munirat “Anto” Lecky, former Big Brother Naija housemate, has been promoted to special adviser on tourism and creative economy by Monday Okpebholo, governor of Edo State.
Lecky announced the promotion in an Instagram post on Wednesday, October 21, describing it as an opportunity to continue serving the state in a higher capacity.
“The reward for work well done is the opportunity to do more,” she wrote.
She thanked Okpebholo for the opportunity and acknowledged the support of other state officials throughout her time in government.
Lecky was appointed special assistant on tourism and creative economy in 2025. Just over a year later, her promotion moves her into a more senior advisory position covering tourism and the creative economy.
In her announcement, Lecky said she remained open to ideas from residents on how to develop the state’s tourism and creative sectors.

“My open-door policy remains — feel free to reach out to me with your tourism and creative ideas for the state. Together, let’s take Edo to the world,” she wrote.
Edo State has a cultural heritage that includes traditional arts, festivals and creative practices. Tourism and the creative economy offer avenues for promoting this heritage and creating opportunities for people working across cultural and creative industries. However, Lecky’s specific plans and achievements in these areas have not been detailed in the announcement.
The former reality television star also addressed other celebrities who have received appointments from state governors, urging them to take their public responsibilities seriously.
“I know how difficult it might be to leave the comfort of your homes and go back to your states, but your people need you and the work is rewarding,” she wrote.
Her comments emphasise the responsibilities that accompany public appointments, particularly for public figures whose visibility could help draw attention to local development priorities. Lecky’s promotion marks another step in her transition from reality television into public service. As she takes on the new role, attention will turn to how she approaches the development of tourism and the creative economy in Edo State.
